Ramada Inn McIntyre Hall

State College, PA

…The (Design Review) Board was pleased with the design of the building and its compatibility with the existing built environment.  The design is very complimentary to the existing Ramada Inn.

Rochelle Paletta, State College Zoning Officer

Developed in close association with the owners and Ramada representatives, HPA designed the Ramada Conference Center to integrate with the framework of the existing hotel complex.  After an intensive investigation of site and building alternatives, the building was situated between two existing hotel wings optimizing existing available land and upgrading the efficiency and functionality of circulation and program offerings.  With a building footprint just over 20,000 square feet, the new facility features a centralized assembly hall to accommodate 400 guests, a pre-function lobby, a ‘state-of-the art’ multi-purpose amphitheatre, meeting rooms and food service facilities. The building is designed to integrate the existing exterior materials within a new contemporary expression.  The building’s form is intended to reinforce its meeting function while ‘anchoring’ the conference center within the complex.  Fronting on Atherton Street, ample fenestration provides transparency to passers-by while offering abundant natural light into the interior public spaces.
